Terms of service
These terms govern your use of primetechessentials.co.uk and any order you place through it. By using the site or buying from us, you agree to them.
1. Who you are contracting with
primetechessentials.co.uk is operated by Prime Tech Essentials, of Parkside, London SW19 5NA, United Kingdom. "We", "us" and "our" mean that business. "You" means you.
2. Eligibility
You must be at least 18 and able to enter a binding contract. By ordering you confirm that the payment method is yours or that you are authorised to use it.
3. Products, descriptions and images
We sell 52 kitchen and home appliances: 24 refrigerators, 10 dishwashers, 15 ovens, ranges and grills, and 3 home utilities (two vanity units and a toilet). We describe every product as accurately as we can, including the brand, the model, the finish, the dimensions and the weight where we have them.
3.1 American specification — what that means before you buy
Every appliance we sell is built to American specification. These units run on 120V or 208–240V supplies. They are not built for UK 230V mains, and you will need a suitable supply or a transformer to run one safely. Check what you have before you order.
Dimensions are given in inches and capacities in cubic feet, as the manufacturers publish them. Efficiency is rated under Energy Star rather than the EU A–G energy label, so the two figures are not comparable. Many of these appliances are built-in and need installing into a cabinet cutout — measure the cutout, and the route into the room, before you order.
These are heavy items. Weights run from roughly 77 lb for a compact refrigerator to 395 lb for a large French-door model. Plan for handling and installation at your end.
3.2 Photography and variation
- Product photographs are representative of the model. The appliance you receive is the same model in the finish you chose.
- Manufacturers revise components, control panels and packaging between production runs, so small differences from the photograph are possible.
- Colours vary between screens. Stainless steel in particular photographs cooler than it looks under kitchen lighting.
- Dimensions, capacities and weights are the manufacturer's published figures and are given in inches, cubic feet and pounds.
3.3 Third-party trademarks
All brand names, logos and model names referred to anywhere on this site — including KitchenAid, Bosch, GE, GE Profile, Café, Maytag, Whirlpool, Frigidaire, Insignia, Blackstone, Weber, Avantco, Vollrath, Miseno, Elegant Lighting and TOTO — are the property of their respective owners. They are used to identify the goods we sell and for no other purpose. We are an independent retailer. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by any manufacturer, and we do not claim to be an authorised, certified or official dealer of any of them.
4. Prices and payment
- All prices are in pounds sterling (GBP) and include VAT where it applies, as UK price marking rules require. Delivery is shown separately at checkout.
- Prices may change without notice. The price that applies is the one shown when you complete checkout.
- Payment is taken at checkout.
- Where a comparison price is shown alongside the selling price, it is a reference price and not necessarily a price this shop previously charged. The price you pay is the one shown at checkout.
4.1 Pricing errors
Occasionally an item is listed at an obviously incorrect price. Where the error is manifest, we may cancel the order and refund you in full even after confirmation. We will tell you promptly, and you are of course free to reorder at the corrected price.
5. Orders and acceptance
Your order is an offer to buy. The contract forms when we send a dispatch confirmation, not when the order confirmation arrives. Before dispatch we may decline or cancel an order — with a full refund — where:
- the item is unavailable or the supplier cannot fulfil it;
- there was a pricing or description error;
- the order fails fraud screening or address verification;
- we reasonably believe the order is placed to circumvent a purchase limit.
6. Stock
In rare cases an item sells twice before the stock count catches up. Where that happens we cancel the order and refund you in full, and we tell you rather than leaving the order open.
7. Delivery and risk
We deliver to United Kingdom addresses only. Tracked delivery is free on every order. Orders over £150 ship with signature on delivery.
Full delivery terms are in our shipping policy, which forms part of these terms. Risk of loss and damage passes to you on delivery to the address you gave us. Title passes when we receive payment in full.
8. Returns and cancellation
Our returns policy forms part of these terms. In short: you have a 30-day returns window for unused appliances in their original packaging, and that window sits on top of your statutory 14-day right to cancel under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013. Faulty or misdescribed goods are covered by the Consumer Rights Act 2015. Nothing in these terms affects your statutory rights.
Because these are heavy items, please read the returns policy before you start a return so you know how the appliance needs to be packed and collected.
9. Accounts
You are responsible for keeping your password confidential and for activity under your account. Tell us immediately if you think it has been compromised. We may suspend or close an account used for fraud, abuse of staff, or repeated chargebacks made without contacting us first.
10. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- scrape, mirror or systematically copy the site's content, pricing or images;
- use automated tools, bots or scripts to place orders or bypass purchase limits;
- attempt to interfere with the site's security or availability;
- submit false information, or use a payment method you are not authorised to use.
11. Intellectual property
The site's design, text, product descriptions, photography and code are ours or our licensors', and are protected by copyright. You may not reproduce them commercially without written permission. Third-party trademarks remain with their owners as set out in clause 3.3.
12. Limitation of liability
Nothing here excludes liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be excluded.
Subject to that, and to the maximum extent permitted by law: we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, loss of profit, or loss of opportunity. Our total liability for any order is limited to the amount you paid for it.
12.1 Electrical supply, installation and handling
These appliances are built for 120V or 208–240V supplies rather than UK 230V mains, and connecting one to an unsuitable supply can damage it or create a hazard. Have the supply, the transformer and the installation arranged by a competent person, and follow the manufacturer's own instructions. Built-in units must be fitted into a cutout of the correct size, and units weighing up to 395 lb need appropriate lifting help. We are not liable for loss caused by installation on an unsuitable supply, by fitting outside the manufacturer's stated tolerances, or by handling that ignores the stated weight. This is a product warning, not an exclusion of liability for a defective product.
13. Force majeure
We are not liable for delay or failure caused by events beyond our reasonable control, including carrier disruption, severe weather, supplier failure or industrial action.
14. Governing law and disputes
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. You and we submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales. If you live in Scotland or Northern Ireland you may also bring proceedings in your own courts — that is your statutory right and nothing here removes it.
15. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms; the version that applies to your order is the one published when you placed it. The date at the top shows when they last changed.
