The appliances

What do you actually sell?

52 kitchen and home appliances: 24 refrigerators, 10 dishwashers, 15 ovens, ranges and grills, and 3 home utilities — two vanity units and a toilet. The brands we stock are KitchenAid, Bosch, GE, GE Profile, Café, Maytag, Whirlpool, Frigidaire, Insignia, Blackstone, Weber, Avantco, Vollrath, Miseno, Elegant Lighting and TOTO.

Are these UK-specification appliances?

No, and we will never say otherwise. Every appliance we sell is American specification. They are built for 120V or 208–240V supplies, not UK 230V mains. A buyer needs a suitable supply or a transformer rated for the appliance.

Check the voltage on the product page against what you have at the installation point before you order. If you are not certain what is at that point, ask a qualified electrician first.

Why are the measurements in inches?

Because that is how the manufacturers specify them. Dimensions are in inches and refrigerator capacities are in cubic feet, exactly as printed on the appliance plate. We publish the figures as they are given rather than converting them and introducing a rounding error into a cutout.

Is it Energy Star rated?

Where the manufacturer states an Energy Star rating, it is on the product page. Energy Star is the American scheme and it takes the place of the EU A–G energy label on these appliances. There is no EU label to quote, so we do not quote one.

How heavy are they?

Between roughly 77 lb for a compact refrigerator and 395 lb for a large French-door model. Where the manufacturer publishes it, the weight is on the product page. It is not listed for every model — if it is missing from the one you are looking at, email us and we will find it before you order. Nothing in this catalogue is a one-person lift.

Fit and installation

Will it fit?

Measure before you order. Take the cutout or the space itself, then the route the appliance has to travel to reach it: the front door, internal doorways, stair turns, and the lift if there is one. A refrigerator that fits the alcove but not the stairwell is the one problem we cannot solve after the fact.

What is the cutout size?

Built-in models list the manufacturer's cutout dimensions on the product page, in inches. Work to the cutout figure, not the appliance's own outside dimensions — they are not the same number, and the difference is the clearance the manufacturer requires around the unit.

Who installs it?

You do, or a competent person you appoint. Built-in models have to be fitted into the cabinet cutout, and wiring and plumbing are the buyer's responsibility unless the product page states otherwise. We do not offer an installation service.

Do not have an appliance installed before you have inspected it. Once a unit is wired in, plumbed in or built into a cabinet, returning it means uninstalling it again and re-packing it in its original carton.

Ordering and delivery

How does delivery work?

Delivery is tracked, to a UK address. Orders over £150 need a signature on delivery, so someone has to be there to sign for those. These appliances are heavy — the lightest is around 77 lb — so plan for help moving one once it arrives.

What do I do when it arrives?

Check the carton for damage before you sign. Walk round it, look at the corners and the edges, and if anything is torn, crushed or punctured, write it on the delivery paperwork before signing. Photograph the carton as well.

What does delivery cost?

Free tracked delivery on every order, with no minimum spend. Orders over £150 ship with signature on delivery.

Do you ship internationally?

No. We deliver within the United Kingdom only.

My tracking has not updated.

Tracking scans can lag behind the consignment. If your tracking looks stalled, email us the order number and we will check it with the carrier.

Returns and statutory rights

What is your returns window?

30 days from delivery. The appliance has to be unused, uninstalled and re-packed in the original carton. Email us before sending anything back so we can agree how the appliance travels. Full detail is in the returns policy.

How does that sit with my right to cancel?

Our 30-day window sits on top of your statutory rights, it does not replace them. Under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013 you have 14 days from delivery to cancel an online order, and a further 14 days to send the goods back. Our window is longer and is offered in addition.

What if it is faulty or not as described?

That is covered by the Consumer Rights Act 2015 and is a different situation to changing your mind. Email us with the order number, the model, and photographs. Nothing on this page limits those rights.

Do you offer a warranty?

Prime Tech Essentials does not offer a warranty or guarantee of its own. What you have is your statutory rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015, plus any manufacturer's terms that come with the appliance. We would rather say that plainly than imply cover we do not provide.

Something arrived damaged.

If you spotted it at the door, the damage should already be noted on the delivery paperwork — send us that note. Either way, photograph the carton and the appliance before unpacking any further, and email us with the order number and the photographs as soon as you can. Do not install it. Damaged or faulty goods are covered by the Consumer Rights Act 2015 and we will sort it out under those rights.

The shop

Are you an authorised dealer for these brands?

No. We are an independent retailer. We are not an authorised, certified or official dealer for any of the brands we stock, and we are not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by any of them. Brand names are used to identify the goods, nothing more.

Do you have a physical shop?

No. Parkside, London SW19 5NA is our fulfilment and returns address, not a walk-in store. Please email before sending anything back so it arrives with a return reference on it. Email us before you send anything back — these are heavy items and we need to agree the arrangements first.

Do you restock sold-out models?

Sometimes. Email us the model you are waiting on and we will tell you where it stands rather than making you check.
