Returns & Refunds

Unused and uninstalled appliances, back within 30 days, re-packed in the carton they arrived in β€” full refund. These are large, heavy goods, so a return is a booked collection rather than a parcel. Nothing in this policy limits your statutory rights under UK consumer law.

Your statutory right to cancel

Because you are buying at a distance, the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013 give you 14 days from the day the order arrives to cancel it, for any reason or none, and a further 14 days to send it back. You do not have to explain yourself and you do not need our agreement.

Our own 30-day window below is longer and easier to use, so in practice most people use that. It sits on top of the statutory right β€” it does not replace it, and nothing on this page limits it.

To cancel under the Regulations, email manzomarc@outlook.com and say so β€” any clear statement is enough, and you do not have to give a reason. You may also use the model cancellation form at the foot of this page if you prefer. We refund within 14 days of the goods coming back to us, including the standard outbound delivery you paid.

30-day returns

You have 30 days from the delivery date to start a return on:

  • any appliance that is unused and uninstalled, with its protective film, shelves, trays, feet, fixings and manuals present, re-packed in the carton it arrived in;
  • an appliance that has been trial-fitted into a cabinet cutout but never connected to power, water or waste, and comes back unmarked.

To start one, email manzomarc@outlook.com with your order number and what you would like to send back. We will reply with a return authorisation reference and arrange a collection. Please do not book your own transport or send anything back before you have that reference β€” an unreferenced return is slow to match to an order and slow to refund.

Getting a large appliance back to us

These are not letterbox goods. A compact refrigerator is around 77 lb and a large French-door model around 395 lb, so a return goes back as a booked collection rather than a parcel, and we arrange it with you.

  • The appliance has to be uninstalled first β€” disconnected from power, and from water and waste where applicable β€” and any built-in unit taken back out of its cutout.
  • It has to be re-packed in the original carton with the original internal packaging. Keep all of it until you are sure you are keeping the appliance.
  • Someone has to be present for the collection. A large appliance cannot be left out for collection unattended.
  • The route out matters as much as the route in β€” doorways, stair turns and lifts. If it came in with difficulty, allow for the same going out.

Who pays return carriage

Reason Return carriage
Wrong item sent We pay β€” we book and pay for the collection
Arrived damaged or faulty We pay β€” we book and pay for the collection
Not as described We pay β€” we book and pay for the collection
Changed your mind, or ordered the wrong size or specification You pay the collection cost β€” see the estimate below

There is no restocking fee in any of these cases.

What a collection costs. These are not goods you can put in the post, so the law requires us to tell you the cost of sending one back before you buy rather than at the point you want to cancel. As a guide, collecting a large appliance from a UK mainland address typically costs Β£45 to Β£95, depending on its size and weight and on how far the address is from a depot; Highlands, islands and Northern Ireland cost more. We will confirm the actual figure in writing before you commit to a return, and we will never deduct more than we were charged.

If we have not given you that figure before you ordered, you do not bear the return cost β€” that is what the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013 say, and we will not argue with it.

Refunds

Refunds are issued to the original payment method once the return has arrived and been inspected, and in any case within 14 days of the goods reaching us. How long it then takes to appear is up to your bank or card issuer.

Cancelling within the statutory 14 days: we refund the standard outbound delivery you paid, whatever your reason, because the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013 require it. Returning after that, under our own 30-day window: outbound delivery is refunded when the return is our fault, and is not refunded on a change of mind. Delivery is free on every order, so there is nothing to refund on that line either way.

What cannot be returned

An appliance that has been installed and used. Once a refrigerator has been run, an oven fired, or a dishwasher plumbed in and cycled, it is no longer unused, so it falls outside our own 30-day window. Your statutory right to cancel within 14 days is unaffected, though we may reduce the refund to reflect any loss in value from use beyond checking the appliance. That is the whole reason we ask you to check dimensions, access and electrical supply before anything is connected. A faulty appliance is a separate matter and is covered below.

Also outside our own 30-day window:

  • appliances that have been modified, cut into, re-wired, or had their plug or supply cable changed;
  • items sent back more than 30 days after delivery;
  • items damaged after delivery through handling, storage, or the journey back to us in inadequate packaging β€” the original carton and internal packaging are what the appliance survived the outbound trip in, and nothing else is adequate;
  • anything bought from another retailer.

The return authorisation reference is a process step, not a bar to a return: it is how we match a collection to the right order. If you are cancelling under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013 and do not have a reference yet, email us and we will issue one.

Voltage, dimensions and fit

Everything we sell is American-specification. These appliances run on 120V or 208-240V rather than UK 230V mains, and you will need a suitable supply or a transformer. Dimensions are given in inches, capacities in cubic feet, and efficiency is rated to Energy Star rather than the EU A-G label. All of this is on the product page before you buy.

So an appliance that turns out to be too tall for the cutout, too wide for the doorway, or wrong for the supply you have is a change-of-mind return under the table above, not a fault β€” measure the space, the route in, and check your supply before you order. If you are unsure which figure on a listing matters, email us first and we will go through it with you.

Built-in models need installing by a competent person. Wiring and plumbing are your responsibility unless we have stated otherwise in writing.

Damaged or incorrect deliveries

Check the carton for damage before you accept the delivery. Look for crushed corners, punctures or torn shrink wrap, and note anything you find on the driver's paperwork. That note is what makes a transit damage claim straightforward. Orders over Β£150 are delivered against a signature, so there will be paperwork in front of you.

If damage only shows once the carton is open, photograph the outer carton and the appliance before you unpack any further, then email us as soon as you can. You choose: a replacement where we can source one, or a full refund. We book and pay for the collection either way.

Cancellations

Anything that has not yet been despatched can be cancelled for a full refund. Email us with the order number. Once the appliance has been consigned to the carrier, the order has to be handled as a return.

Exchanges

We do not process direct swaps. Return the original for a refund under this policy and place a new order for the model you want, so you are not waiting on two deliveries to cross β€” which with large appliances is worth avoiding.

Faulty or misdescribed items

The Consumer Rights Act 2015 says goods must be of satisfactory quality, fit for purpose and as described. If an appliance is not what the listing said it was β€” wrong model, wrong dimensions, wrong voltage, missing shelves or fixings, undisclosed damage β€” or it does not work as it should, tell us and we will make it right with a full refund or a replacement, and we cover the carriage both ways. This applies regardless of the 30-day window.

We are an independent retailer. We are not an authorised, certified or official dealer for any of the brands we stock, and we do not offer a warranty of our own. Your rights against us under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 are not affected by that, and are what this section is about.

Gifts

If you received an appliance as a gift, we can process the return against the original order β€” we need the order number or the buyer's email address. The refund goes back to the payment method that paid for it; we cannot redirect it to a different person.

Chargebacks

Please contact us before filing one. A chargeback takes months to resolve for both sides, and there is very little we cannot settle in an afternoon by email.
